'Minis' sessions to begin in January

Nick Friend22 Dec 2024 - 00:30

To register your interest, please email James Parslow; Fergal Walter will run the sessions on Sunday mornings

North Middlesex CC are very excited to announce that our popular winter Minis programme will start in January.

You can find all details below:

Overview and focus: Targeted at girls and boys in Reception and Year One, this softball programme is perfect for beginners and will involve drills and indoor games focused on both fun and basic cricket knowhow and skills.

Coach: Fergal Walter, who is an ECB Level Two coach and 1st XI player, leads our All Stars programme, has led multiple outdoor Minis sessions, and has been a key coach at camps and during the summer season for many years now. Fergal will be helped by NMCC support coaches.

Dates: Sessions will run on the following Sundays at 9.30am to 10.30am – January 12, 19 and 26; Feb 2, 9 and 16. Unfortunately, these were the only dates we could book the hall in that timeslot. Depending on numbers, we will look to book a different time or venue for future weeks leading up to the outdoor season in April.

Venue: The gym at Hornsey School for Girls, Inderwick Road, Crouch End, N8 9JF. Parking is available next to the sports hall, a short walk through the school from the sports hall.

Cost: £60 for the entire programme, but if you would like a free taster session before committing that is also an option. We would not want any junior to be excluded for financial reasons, so if cost is an issue, please let James Parslow know. A club-funded bursary may be available - see the club's bursary policy here. This includes an application form which should be sent to Sunil Krishnan, whose email is on the form.

Parents may stay to watch the sessions should they wish. Help from parents is always welcomed. Please let Fergal know at the sessions if you would like to get involved.

To register your interest, please email James Parslow (jamesparslow217@gmail.com), who will then set up a payment link via Pitchero.

Please share this with any friends or other contacts with children in Reception or Year One, who you think might like to take part in the programme.

Feel free to get in touch with any questions.
